Glossary

We have designed this glossary to help you better understand the terminology of our rates.

Comprehensive Coverage: All of our packages include comprehensive ceremony coverage. No part of the wedding ceremony is removed from the video, and the footage is edited together so that the best possible camera angle is used all times. The comprehensive toasts coverage also cuts two camera angles together to add more style and visual variety to the toast footage. The comprehensive dancing video similarly covers more angles, and therefore leads to better overall coverage and editing.

Custom Menu DVD: Having a "menued" DVD is the most organized way we can create your wedding video, especially in the case of our more inclusive packages. With options like "play ceremony," "play photo montage," and "play highlights only," the viewer can skip to only the portions of the video they wish to see without having to fast forward through the entire video.

Editing: In professional video editing, the editor does more than just "cut out" parts of the footage. Video editing is a complicated process that involves many stylistic and technical choices on the editor's part. Selecting the best clips and footage is only the first stepÑskills like metering the audio levels, color correction, gamma or "brightness" correction, super-impositions, soundtrack addition, and smooth transitions between clips all make raw footage into a real movie. We use Final Cut Pro™ editing systems, a professional, industry standard program, for all of our work.

DV Master: A video master is the original copy of the edited footage; it is like the "negatives" of the final wedding video. We give a master of the wedding to our clients for them to keep in a safe place, like a safe deposit box.

Photomovie: Set to your favorite music, our photomovies are a digital slideshow of your favorite photographs. Many couples choose both baby photos and photos from their childhood in addition to photos of their courtship for this type of montage. (Couple is responsible for providing photographs, including wedding photographs if package includes a wedding photomovie.)

Pre-Ceremony Footage: "Getting ready," "flowers," "photo shoots," and all other pre-ceremony activities fall into this category.

Raw Footage: Raw footage is videotape exactly as it was shot from the camera, before any editing. Raw footage is oftentimes long and has some shots that would not make it into a final video, but some couples like to see it anyway because it is all of the footage from their wedding, not just the best clips chosen for the edited video. We therefore offer raw footage in our most basic custom-create options, or for an additional fee as an add-on to our packages.

Same Day Highlights Edit: A wonderful addition to your wedding reception, our same day highlights edit video is edited after your ceremony, to the song of your choice, with lovely effects like slow motion, black and white, and professional transitions. Dazzle your guests with this presentation, which presents highlights of the day while the wedding is still happening!

Web Share Video: Let friends and family enjoy clips of your wedding by sending them a "view" invitation by email! Includes password protection so that your video is private to the public.

Wedding Highlights Montage: To create the wedding highlights montage, we take the very best shots from your wedding and edit them to your choice of music. It's the perfect way to share the best moments of your wedding with family and friends, or to remember them for yourself!
